The Pipeline, 2014 – additional information:

The one photograph project – The Pipeline – is a digital manipulation.

Almost 300 photos were downloaded from the Internet by entering passwords as a pipeline, gasoline, repair of water mains, sewers, etc.

These photos were not manipulated in any way except for sizing, rotation and flip. From this base has been gradually built a pipeline system as a collage. If you begin to study the photograph, you’ll find that each part of the piping system really continues to each other with surprising detail and precision. Not everywhere. But that’s the point. It is a granted collage!

However, the picture retains the rules of perspective. Just imagine that you are standing over one large building of pipeline with your camera with a wide angle lens. It’s Friday, one hour before lunchtime. There are dozens workers working on it at the same time. Now you fictionally take a picture. Those who are below you, they are larger and you stare at their backs. The piping system is then driving off toward the horizon – to the top of the photo delving beneath the surface. Workers in the upper part photos are already smaller. In summary, although it is a collage, the perspective of the scene is maintained as a real one.

Photograph contains many details, different technical devices, different situations etc. This level of detail is the reason, why the photograph “The Pipeline” must be printed in large format. It is a necessity, in this case.

Potrubí, 2014 – doplňující informace:

Projekt o jedné fotografii  – The Pipeline  –  je digitální manipulací.

Na 300 fotografií bylo staženo z Internetu zadáváním hesel jako pipeline, gasoline, oprava vodovodního řadu, kanalizace, ropovod apod.

Tyto fotografie nebyly nijak manipulovány s výjimkou úpravy velikosti, natočení a překlopení. Z této báze fotografií byl postupně vybudován jeden potrubní systém jako koláž. Pokud začnete fotografii studovat, zjistíte, že jednotlivé části potrubního systému na sebe skutečně v překvapivých detailech a precizně navazuje. Ne všude. O to ale jde. Je to přiznaná koláž.

Nicméně fotografie zachovává pravidla perspektivy. Představte si, že stojíte nad velkou stavbou potrubí se svým fotoaparátem se širokoúhlým objektivem. Je pátek, hodina do oběda, a na stavbě pracují v jeden čas desítky dělníků. A pořídíte fiktivní snímek. Ti, kteří stojí pod vámi, tak jsou větší a koukáte se jim na záda. Potrubní systém pak ujíždí směrem k horizontu, aby se v horní části fotografie zavrtal pod povrch. Dělníci v horní partii fotografie jsou již menší. Shrnuto, ač jde o koláž, je zachována perspektiva snímku tak, aby co nejvíce odpovídala reálné scéně.

Fotografie obsahuje mnoho detailů, různá zařízení, různé situace apod. Tyto detaily jsou důvodem, proč musí být fotografie vytištěna ve velkém formátu. V tomto případě je to nutnost.
